Episode 21- Life Lessons from 40 year old Women- Reframing Aging w/ Kim and Steph

Episode 21- Life Lessons from 40 year old Women- Reframing Aging w/ Kim and Steph

September 28, 2020

Guys...I’m 40! What up?

In this episode, I’m sitting down with my good pal Steph to dish about what it really feels like to turn 40. Honestly, getting older is strange, especially when you still feel 24...but you’re not.

We poured a glass of cheap rose and hit record on this super REAL chat between friends about the confidence that comes with getting older, observations on aging in the media (when you’re somewhere between Taylor Swift and Diane Keaton), and re framing our thoughts around aging. It can actually be pretty awesome.

Here’s what we’re talking about in this episode:

  • The moment where Steph  had a mild freak out about her 40 year old metabolism
  • The beautiful thing about getting older (confidence man...so much more confidence)
  • What’s up with the media representation of women? We’re not Taylor Swift but we’re also not Diane Keaton. Someone please see us!
  • What to do when it’s time to stop shopping in the youth department but you’re not ready for pantsuits.
  • Things you think about when you’re 40 that you never thought about when you’re 20 (ie. longevity, good shoes, skincare, and sun hats.)
  • Steph’s very in-depth research study on 40 year old women (Thank you to those 3 friends that helped out!)
  • Getting older is NOT a death sentence. In fact, it’s the opposite. It gets better every year.

Episode 20- How to FINALLY Achieve Confidence

Episode 20- How to FINALLY Achieve Confidence

September 21, 2020

I want you to imagine the most confident woman you know.

What does she look like? What does she wear? How does she move and speak? What is it about her that radiates confidence?

These are important clues into what makes us confident. And if you’re not feeling that way right now...believe us you can get there. Confidence is something that is created over time, with a little practice. It doesn’t happen overnight.

Andrea and Kim are breaking down the steps (there are 4 of them) to becoming more confident, the secrets behind their own “not so confident” moments, and throwing in a few random anecdotes about body confidence and fashion. Always keepin it real over here!

So many of our listeners are telling us they feel crappy about summertime weight gain, missing workouts, or just losing sight of motivation and health habits. We get it!

In this episode we discuss how to give yourself some major grace around your so called “faux pas”, perspective around summertime weight gain and give you 3 ways to get back on track today (they may surprise you).
